When I received this case, my first thought was that the pachage had been in a poorly cleaned or ventalated area. Then I cut the sealed pack open, and discovered that my initial impression was far too kind. The case was filthy, covered in a gritty textured something, with dark banding on the edges of the metal, as if it had been scorched. The CF card holder looked streached out of shape, as if it had been used. The whole impression was of a used, damaged, piece being repackaged. Only the fact that it was in one of those plastic packs you need a plasma torch to cut through makes them think it was not. I now suspect it is salvage of some kind, perhaps from a warehouse that was flooded or burned down.
At this point, I am returning it for a full refund.
Works Great for 3600 / 3800 Series Ipaq (2004-12-06)
Contrary to all the negative reviews for this case, it works GREAT for the older models it was designed for. Apparently Amazon.com had a mistake in their product description which has apparently been fixed. My model 3635 fits in this case perfectly. There are 4 slots for extra SD memory cards and a slot for business cards - very nice feature. My case has been in use for 5 months and it has taken plenty of abuse without so much as a single scratch on the exterior of the case or on my Ipaq. The Ipaq fits snugly and is easy to remove for syncing. Easy opening and closing. This is my third case for this Ipaq and this one BY FAR is the best I have found. You cannot go wrong with this if you have one of the older Ipaqs.
zero star (2004-05-28)
This is a perfect reason not to buy online. There is no way this product could find shelf space in a normal store. It looks and feels like a used beer can. Amazon was asleep at the switch when they allowed this onto their website. I opened the package and threw it staight into the garbage. The time and effort involved in returning it wasn't worth the money.
Returned and got the shipping charges back (2004-03-02)
Returned this with the option that Amazon screwed up the order because the web site discription was misleading and 8 days later they sent me an email stating that all charges would be credited to my credit card. I'll give Amazon 5 stars for customer satisfaction , but the product only gets 1.
The Ipaq 1935 CAN fit in this case! (2004-02-18)
The aluminum is bendable, so you can squeeze the inside end clips in, to fit the IPAQ 1935. This worked very nicely.
There is an inch or at the top that you don't need, but I still use this case, and find it adequate to protect the PDA. There is no other hard case which opens from the top, allows the USB/Charger plug to fit in the PDA while it is in the case, and allows the headphone to be plugged in. So.... I decided to keep the case .... until something better comes along.
