Built for professionals on the go, the PalmOne Treo 600 rolls all the functionality of a high-end PDA and a cell phone into one tight package. Complete with a backlit QWERTY keyboard and a digital camera, it's the ultimate mobile office companion.
Calling and PDA Features
As a phone, the GSM 850 MHz, GSM 1800 MHz, GSM 900 MHz or GSM 1900 MHz Treo provides a built-in one-touch speakerphone feature, a mute button and caller ID, plus a few other snazzy features. For example, you can slide the ringer switch on the top of the phone, and it instantly puts the phone in silent mode, so there's no more wading through screen menus in the dark before the movie starts. And, by typing in initials or a name into the keyboard, you can dial anyone in your contacts list instantly. The keys have a special ergonomic dome shape, designed to be extra thumb-friendly. Plus there are tons of single and double key shortcuts you can use to launch Palm applications, up to 25 at once. But, if you're set in your ways with your PDA, you can always forego the keyboard and simply use the screen dial pad and stylus. Other calling features include vibrate mode, 16-channel MIDI polyphonic ring tones, and external volume buttons and ringer/silent switches.
For your PDA needs, the Treo sports 32 MB of RAM (24 MB user-available), plus a calendar and Palm OS organizer (version 5.2.1H), with the standard features such as Contact List, Memo Pad, To Do List, and more. You also get 24 MB of available memory to hold additional Palm OS software applications of the thousands that are available, such as MP3 players. When you sync up, the Treo 600 provides one-touch transfer of your Contacts to your PC's Outlook.

Plus, you can send and receive SMS text messages to other phones or to any email address, and keep track of the conversation with threaded messaging.
You can even attach photos to your text messages. The Treo 600's built-in 640 x 480, 0.3 megapixel digital camera makes it easy to take and send the photos back to your PC, use them in text messages, or as picture caller ID by attaching the pictures to corresponding people in the contacts list.

good Phone (2008-02-18)
I have used this phone for 2.5 years. I use it to store over 4500 contacts and put all my personal info in it. I dont use it for email for internet. I use the palm desktop since 1999 and would change to Outlook. Its a great simple format. I have never had to do a hard reset with a Treo 600. It is a durable phone and I bought another as a backup.
Best phone I've ever owned (2007-12-23)
The Palm Treo 600 has worked flawlessly since day one - if it would work with the CDMA system Verizon is on (the only service I get at our new house) I would definitely keep it, but its on GSM with Cingular/ATT which has incredibly poor service in my new area. If there is any service available this phone will pick it up where others wont. Add to it all the features this smartphone adds and its a great piece of equipment at a now killer price since the new models have emerged (& are having problems this older model doesnt). IMO you cant go wrong with this phone, and I have 3 other friends with the sale model that love it just as much.
Piece of Junk (2007-06-19)
I have always liked palm products. We use them in our business and they do save us a lot of time. I purchased this product to save myself from having to carry a palm and a phone.
The good:
Very loud ringer.
Plays MP3's with a mini sd card and free player ava on download.com.
Nice looking and feels well made when holding it in your hand.
Uses Palm software for 100's of software titles.
Keyboard is easy to use.
The Bad:
No properly functioning alarm clock. One can be purchased for $20!!!
Has a huge delay when answering a phone call for the caller to hear your "Hello"
Case is "slick" and is easy to fall out of your hand when talking.
Charging system is junk. Broke 1st day It arrived.
If phone falls just right it is broke beyond repair.
I truly loved this phone but it just is not a real business phone. It does what it is supposed to do, but can not stand up to the slighest drop or "real world" hazards. I have an el-cheapo phone that has been through a war and still works and cost $49. For the original price of this I would expect the same. I would recommend buying another phone, as the quality is really bad.
